Their reply was: “If using UK soft wood try to burn the stove once a day for a couple of hours – many customers find 2 or 3 hours in the evening works best. Use wood that has been seasoned and kiln dried preferably, never use green wood as this is not dry enough. The smoke/steam is water vapour, so it’s not wasted water as such but better used to heat the sauna room. You don’t want the front glass lagging to get too hot as then it tends to steam up, best just to have a slight ripple on top. If you prefer an airier stove you can take a 20watt wired bulb (Bayco) and place it about half way up the glass behind the lagging.”
